About the Writer.
I developed Half/Bryan back in 1998 or you could say 1995. In 1995 I just drew a paper interior of a tower building and must make it to the top. But that was just a board paper game I made called John's Mission. I drew it out on a blank piece of paper for a general idea and soon converted it into a game with the current software at the time in 1998. It was then changed to Half/Bryan and the main character being named Bryan. It was a side scroll er game of a tower base and you must reach the top without being seen. Soon after I worked on 2 other main games in the Half/Bryan series and they were first person shooter with cut scenes. I enjoyed working on the PB Laser Satellite Facility. witch was the 2nd game. Doing the lighting effects and also the story. Soon after I worked on the PB Lagrin Facility and enjoyed bringing the story to life as well. I wrote the novel of Half/Bryan back in 1998 and was kinda like a bond action story.
I decided to make comics after seeing the time line sketches I had and I saw I had a comic pretty much done. I had comic images already done because they were originally slides for the making of the games time line. So I decided to start focus on making the comic of half/bryan and did a chapter 1 with voice acting to add. I later in 2019 drew on the computer a comic of Naripe's leader General Luberin and it tells how he took command of Naripe. I would prefer to draw my pictures but scanning ruins the quality and I don't have the money for photo shop or other software as I had back in the day. My time is also very limited due to work everyday and home at home life. I now do all my drawing work on Microsoft paint and I did use this program back in the day before photo shop to create images in my games. Yes my images may not look fantastic like other pictures of art you see in comics or books but I like to know that my art is my own. And I like the background lore of the Half/Bryan universe and the great story it has. I will say that creating your own story/comic or even game you tend to not enjoy it as most people may as you created the story and know everything in it. But I do know if you return back to your work after many years of not working on it, it will seem new and that someone else created it.
The Half/Bryan series was inspired by the Jame Bond films and as I stated back in 1995 I made the John's Mission game and was part from the 1995 film Goldeneye. I watched all the films back in the day. Before working on John's Mission I worked on Titanic models and Star Wars Imperial AT-AT and AT-ST models. Building 3D paper models or the real models. The PB Group was even made back in 1995 with Army men, And what you would call real life 3D modeling with rooms made out of shoe boxes. At the time you couldn't be a indie dev so this was the only way to make a game and you can say it was turn based.
During the time I created Half/Bryan in 1998, I was also playing games. I don't play games really a whole lot anymore but the series I always followed was the Metal Gear Solid series. I own all the titles. Still remember getting the game back on release day of 1998 and playing it back on the NES as well. Metal Gear Solid was a well written story by Kojima and loved how all the series tied together in 4. I think that is why I continued to keep with the sneak styling in the Half/Bryan universe and I also wanted to pay attention to story and lore more then just a shooter game. In the years of 98-99 I had drawn up structures and vehicles to had planned for a RTS game. Back in 95-96 I loved and enjoyed playing the Command & Conquer series and own all of them to this day still. The stories of the series were good and wanted to bring the Half/Bryan story into a similar play style. With you joining the factions of either the Severts or the PB Group and possible later Naripe. But never got the chance to work on the game.
